Reflex bronchospasm
Occupational exposure to inert particles and to irritant gases such as sulfur dioxide and fluorocarbons, may produce reflex bronchospasm by direct stimulation of irritant receptors localized in the submucosa of the bronchial wall. (See irritant receptors).
