The primary immunological abnormalities in atopic humans are:  1) Elevated IgE,  2) Higher IgE responses to food allergens,  3) Low numbers of "rosetting" lymphocytes  4) Low numbers of CD8-positive T-cells  5) Increased CD4/CD8 ratio   6) Depressed ConA and histamine-induced suppression 7) Elevated phosphodiesterase and linoleic acid levels in cord blood leucocytes.
