CARAS. Respiratory allergy is now recognized as a disorder of the entire respiratory tract, with different manifestations in the specific target organs of the nose and lungs. Recognition of the relationship between allergic rhinitis and asthma has been formalized by new diagnostic terminology - combined allergic rhinitis and asthma syndrome (CARAS).
