Λεξικό .. Asthma and physiotherapy

Neither physiotherapy nor exercise programms have any direct effect on asthma patients, especially children should be encouraged to participate in all physical activities, and improved fitness may improve the child's ability to cope with asthma. Emphasis should be placed on the use of prophylactic medication before exercise[1]

Breathing training resulted in improvements in asthma-specific health status and other patient-centred measures but not in asthma pathophysiology. Such exercises may help patients whose quality of life is impaired by asthma, but they are unlikely to reduce the need for anti-inflammatory medication.[2].
