Ana-Kit. A combination package of four chewable 2mg chloropheniramine maleate, USP, tablets and a prefilled syringe with needle containing epinephrine USP, 1mg/1ml (1:1000 wt/vol). The syringe is engineered to deliver two 300£g/0,3ml doses of epinephrine through a 25-gauge 5/8 inch needle. These kits also contain a tourniquet and an alcohol swab and are marketed as the Ana-kit (Hollister-Stier Laboratories; Spokane, Washington) and generically as insect-sting kits by various manufacturers. The Ana-kit is unique in providing a tourniquet for slowing absorption from an extremity sting site and allows the flexibility of administering one or several doses of the antihistamine, one or two doses of epinephrine or combination of the two drugs[1, 2, 3]. The syringe plumger need correct manipulation for the subcutaneous injection.
