Λεξικό .. Alveolar macrophage

Alveolar macrophages can secrete interleukin (IL)-10 and IL-12. IL-12 is a cytokine produced by cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage and is considered as a Th1 inducer. IL-10 is synthesized by B cells and also monocytes and macrophages and its main function is the deactivation of T cells. AM are at least primed for the production of IL-10 and IL-12 in asthma and probably these cells could be involved in the resolution of the asthmatic inflammation.
