Allergovit (Allergopharma). Allergovit is an Allergoid-Depot -covalent modification of allergens results in a reduced allergenicity without affecting the immunogenicity - the success of the desensitization is proven by the determination of the increase of blocking antibodies (specific IgG antibodies). The short time-desensitization therapy with Allergovit only comprises 7 injections administered at weekly intervals. This means pre-seasonal therapy can be initiated as late as 2 months before pollination, simplifying management of patients and follow-up. Allergovit enables a "lege artis-therapy" based on the principles of a specific hyposensitization including individual dosage, continuous increase in doses, high final concentrations and miscibility. Thanks to a sufficiently high quantity of therapy extract, doses may be modified if necessary.

Composition: Allergovit is an Allergoid-Depot manufactured of different allergens following principals of allergoids. The respective composition is governed by the patient's spectrum of sensitivity. Proportions of different allergoids are mentioned on the package label. Allergoids are dialyzed, adsorbed on to aluminium hydroxide, suspended in phys. saline and preserved with 0.4% Phenol and standardized in TU (=therapeutical units). (See Immunotherapy, Allergoids.
