Dictionary of Allergies .. CD14

CD14: rIL-4 downregulates the expression of CD14, a monocytic 52KD phosphatidylinositol-anchored protein. Under baseline conditions over 80% of purified peripheral blood monocytes express CD14 , as assessed by flow cytometry. Incubation with rIL-4 (50U/ml) for 48h strongly (›=50%) decreased CD14 expression.
