Dictionary of Allergies .. Brome grass

Brome grass [(L) Bromus inermis, (Ger.) Trespe, (Fr.) brome, (Gr.) : Brome grass is a perennial, native to central Europe and Asia. It is cultivated for fodder, especially in the northern regions of the US. Flowers from June to September. It has low or non-existing cross-reactivity to commonly found grass species. Anti-timothy pollen reaginic antibody produced in rats cross-reacted with a large number of grass pollen antigens (Orchard, June grass, perennial rye grass, velvet, meadow fescue, red top and broncho grass), but did not react with Bermuda, brome and Johnson grass.In RAST the allergen of Brome grass it is symbolized as g11.
