A long acting synthetic corticosteroid with biologic half life, 36h. It has 30 times more potent relative antiinflammatory effect from Hydrocortisone. It is available as various salts for oral administration, as creams, ointments, and lotions for topical use and as a topical aerosol (Trade names: Betnesol, Celestone, etc.).
