Dictionary of Allergies .. Arthus reaction
Intradermal injection of antigen into previously immunized animals produced local inflammation and necrosis at the site of antigen injection. This local reaction is called Arthus reaction, whereas the generalized systemic reaction is called serum sickness. (See Hypersensitivity, Type III).
